AU, AZU, AK and AKS
In March 1951, the first version of the 2CV Van based on the 2CV A was released: the 2CV AU (U = Utility). It was replaced in 1954 by the 2CV AZU-A, which had a more powerful 425cm3 engine. In September 1972, the AZU-A was replaced by the AZU-B with the 435cm3 engine from the 2CV4 and was reserved for government use.
From April 1963, a new extended version of the AZU was introduced, based on the mechanics of the Ami 6: the AK 350. The payload capacity increased from 250 to 350kg. Faced with competition from the Renault 4 Van and the success of the AK 350, Citroën further developed the AK type and released the AK 400 in July 1970: among other changes, the payload capacity increased to 400kg, the new engine was derived from the Ami 8, and there was a 20cm height increase (hence the S for Surélevé, meaning Raised).
In 1978, the production of the 2CV Van ceased and was replaced by the Acadiane.
