Restom Blocmoteur 8890

Restom Blocmoteur 8890 is an epoxy coating for the inside of engine blocks and housings. It is designed to treat porous housings and protect liners in contact with coolant.

Kit contents

• 0.5 kg of Blocmoteur 8890 resin with its hardener;
• 0.5 litre of Diluant 2092.

Properties

• according to Restom, it does not alter heat exchange;
• resists boiling water, commercial antifreeze fluids and engine oil up to 170°C;
• provides anti-corrosion protection during permanent immersion;
• has a smooth finish to help oil or coolant flow and reduce deposits;
• orange RAL 2009 only, to make application easier in dark recesses.

Application

• apply with a brush or by pouring;
• prepare only the quantity needed;
• apply to perfectly degreased steel, cast iron, aluminium or alloys;
• shot blasting is strongly recommended;
• allow 8 to 10 days to dry at 20°C and below 70% ambient humidity.

Restom states that a 500 ml kit covers approximately 1.5 m² and protects the inside of one engine block.
