Hot dip galvanized chassis 2CV since 04/70
This 2CV chassis fits on 2CV since april 1970, but also on Dyane or Méhari.
This body part piece is hot dip galvanized in a 450°C bath, wich leads to slight deformations of the top and bottom metal sheets.
The galvanisation is happening to the end at the construction of the chassis, so it's common to have to re-drill or tap again some holes (the galvanising layer is thick enough for good protection of the chassis).
You have to protect these chassis with cavity wax and a surface painting so that the guarantee is still applicable.
The floor supports are delivered to be welded on the chassis to avoid that they are being damaged during transport.
For the Benelux countries (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, germany), chassis are sold with a TUV approval certificate. In France, it's not mandatory. For the vehicles of 30 years old or more, the absence of chassis number can't be a reason for refulsal at the technical control. So you are not mandatory to punch your number.
