Dyane and Acadiane
In 1967, the Dyane was introduced, based on the 2CV and intended to compete with the Renault 4, which was released in 1961. The assembly lines of the 2CV were reused for the Dyane, and Panhard was appointed to design the bodywork. The name "Dyane" also comes from Panhard.
The Acadiane was introduced in 1978 to replace the 2CV Van. It is a derivative of the Dyane, and its name is a combination of Dyane and AK. To compete with Renault 4 vans, the Acadiane is equipped with the engine from the Dyane 6 and later the Ami 8. Its aerodynamics and many other elements, both on the exterior and interior of the van, were improved. With the introduction of the C15 in 1984 and the availability of more powerful engines, the Acadiane eventually became outdated, and production ceased in 1988.
